Call for AbstractsUSGS is pleased to announce a joint meeting of the second Users Conference for The National Map and fourth Workshop for the USGS Community for Data Integration to be held May 21 - 23, 2013, in Denver, Colorado. May 20 and 24 will be available for training and work group informal sessions as well. The National Map Users Conference and USGS Community for Data Integration collaboration will bring together scientists, managers, and data users to share accomplishments and progress through presentations, workshops, posters, and informal gatherings. The goal is to enhance communication among USGS scientists and the Department of the Interior (DOI) bureaus as well as to tap into geospatial, science and resource management communities from other Federal agencies, State and local governments, researchers, industry and other organizations. Representatives from DOI, USGS, and other organizations will provide their perspectives on goals, strategic direction, science needs, and training for USGS geospatial and related activities. The focus of the combined The National Map Users Conference and CDI Workshop includes, interacting with priority communities of use, the role of The National Map in supporting science initiatives, and future status and plans. Presentations should address (1) experiences based on use of The National Map data theme or application and (2) data integration issues, planning, and execution in support of science, including products and tools to help our scientists find, get, and use data for conducting interdisciplinary studies. Please consider participating, by submitting an abstract that addresses one of the Conference or Workshop session themes.
